Chlorine measurement in solar powered electrochlorination process – a case study

In some places, automated dosing of chlorine for the disinfection of drinking water is difficult or impossible. Electrocholrination offers a way of generating a chlorine residual in situ.

In this case study, a solar powered electrochlorination system was developed. The remote chlorine generation station is powered only by solar PV energy and thus operates completely self sufficiently. Maintenance requirements are reduced to a monthly check of the system. The chlorine production process is controlled using a chlori::lyser online chlorine sensor online, combined with a redo::lyser for ORP measurement.

I was surprised about the easy installation as well as the fast and reliable sensor reading. The senor also works reliably under very harsh environmental conditions.
