Ensuring COD discharge compliance, reducing costs and capturing events associated with the CIP process

Grab samples to demonstrate compliance with COD discharge consents are a common way for breweries to manage their wastewater, but there are several advantages to be had by using online COD monitoring.

In this case study, a titanium spectro::lyser was combined with a pH::lyser to not only monitor COD in real time on a continuous basis, but also monitor the type of organic carbon being discharges. By using the ana::tool event detection software, the brewery could determine what was going down the drain in terms of product loss and also identify pH swings associated with the CIP process.

The brewery saves a lot of money on lower product loss, on the reduction of lab samples required and meets the sewer permit requirements.
